can i gush for a second? i LOVE this band. so much. personally, their records are always the best medicine for anything. there's the country music warble and cadence of J's voice, the psychedelic haze and burn of the guitar solos, the pounding hardcore rhythm section, and the punk underbelly - all wrapped up in a (very loud) warmth that just hugs you like your favorite old blanket. also one of the most excellent live rock n roll shows to see. bring earplugs. J, Lou, and Murph are all super dudes too. got to hang out with them back in april - about a week or two before they shot this video (this video which is awesome by the way! - i love that mike watt is there too! watt is the man.).. we had a 90's R&B Dance Party in a parking lot in burlington, vermont with the Dino dudes and our buddies Awesome Color. it was a killer weekend. i took just a few pictures of that night and they are below.

i remember Christmas when i was 12 years old. my school buddy Mike and i both got our very first electric guitars for christmas that year - both these squier guitars and they looked sooo cool. i had dreams about getting an electric guitar like that - like a shiny red car from the fifties. man that was such an exciting morning. mike came over to my house one day shortly after x-mas and we didn't even know how to tune these guitars we got. so we just made it up. i think i ended up fucking up my guitar, so i had to take it to the shop in Harrisonburg to get it fixed. anyway, mike had a dinosaur jr. t-shirt that he got from his brother. he wore it like every day. i'll always remember how jealous i was of that shirt. man, Dinosaur rules.
