HiLLSViLLe + Notes from the Morning Commute, Pt II

graduation in Indy. congrats, sis! i wore my dad's grey suit he gave to me. he bought it in the seventies at Jackson's Menswear in Hillsville, Virginia - "Where the well-dressed men shop". Hillsville is somehow the place where my parents met. my sister and i will never fully understand how this happened, even though they tell us time and time again that they were both just there for some work opportunities. i try to imagine the dates they went on, the things they did for fun in Hillsville. i wonder if they went to the annual holiday parades like this one:

Holiday Parade in Hillsville, Virginia.

when we were little, my folks took us there for lunch at the famous Hillsville Diner - a spot they used to frequent for some tasty grub. i remember being slightly horrified at our toothless waitress, but i'm sure i would dig it so much now. dig it: just looking at it makes me want a greasy giant cheeseburger. right now.
