a gay Lightning Bolt

last night after some margaritas the size of our heads, we headed back to brooklyn. sat on the rocks down by the east river and watched the sun go down. played some noisemakers in Main Drag until they closed. ate the shawarma at oasis. oh god how i love oasis. my wife decided we should send them Palestinian holiday cards to express our love. i'm into that for sure.headed over to Glasslands after that to see Pterodactyl rock the house down - they played for free as part of a Vice Magazine/Colt 45 party. we sipped the sweet nectars of the free Colt 45 and got the blast of P-Dac's awesome vibes. didn't stick around much afterwards to see These Are Powers and Psychedelic Horseshit (who were apparently added to the bill at the last second), but Vice threw a pretty neato bash - and they even gave Worldwild a pukey face. ladies and gentlemen: the Vice Magazine review of Pterodactyl's Worldwild:

I figured that with a name like Pterodactyl the music would be all like “CRAW CRAW!” but instead it’s all “Deedle deedle deedle deedle deedle deedle deedle deedle deedle” with some of these modern arty hardcore drummings and synth “VoooOOOOOOoooom” sounds. I would describe this to others as a gay Lightning Bolt. -VICE
